چکیده
CO477, CO478, CO479, and CO480 are mid- to late-season (75 – 81 days flowering, CHU=1720–1855) corn (Zea mays L.) inbred lines with high stalk sugar levels. The level of in the stalks very especially when grown as lines. On average, inbreds yield three times more than their testcrosses. These first be developed released for biofuel production, from breeding program Agriculture Agri-Food Canada. Additionally, these can used and/or silage production. They have moderate intermediate resistance common rust, eyespot, northern leaf blight fusarium rot but susceptible gibberella ear rot.

Selected Lines and Inbred Strains
In their quest to elucidate the genetic influences contributing to alcoholism, researchers have long used selected lines and inbred strains of rodents. Selected lines are obtained by repeatedly mating those animals within a population that show extremely high or low values of the desired trait. Inbred strains are generated by mating male and female siblings, irrespective of any particular trait...
متن کاملQTL Mapping: Overview and Using Inbred Lines
While the machinery of quantitative genetics can blissfully function in complete ignorance of any of the underlying genetic details, we are certainly interested (at least one some level) on the genetic basis of trait variation. At the most practical level, if a gene of major effect is segregating in our population of interest, we would certainly like to not only to be aware of this, but also to...
متن کاملRecombinant Inbred Lines and Genetic Reference Populations
The mouse is the most extensively used mammalian model for biomedical and aging research, and an extensive catalogue of laboratory resources is available to support research using mice: classical inbred lines, genetically modifi ed mice (knockouts, transgenics, and humanized mice), selectively bred lines, consomics, congenics, recombinant inbred panels, outbred and heterogeneous stocks, and an ...
متن کاملGenetic Distance Based on SSR Markers and Testcross Performance of Maize Inbred Lines
The identification of parental inbred lines to develop superior hybrids is a rather costly and time-consuming step in maize breeding. In some cases, pedigree information has been used to select diverse parental lines. In the case of Iranian maize inbred lines, this information is not fully available. In this study we investigated the genetic distance (GD) based on Simple sequence Repeats (SSR) ...
متن کاملThe genomes of recombinant inbred lines.
Recombinant inbred lines (RILs) can serve as powerful tools for genetic mapping. Recently, members of the Complex Trait Consortium proposed the development of a large panel of eight-way RILs in the mouse, derived from eight genetically diverse parental strains. Such a panel would be a valuable community resource. The use of such eight-way RILs will require a detailed understanding of the relati...
